Dear ArcticNet PI's,

The ArcticNet Student Association (ASA) would like to welcome the new and returning ArcticNet researchers. We are currently planning the 2016 ArcticNet Student Day, which will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This year one of our objectives is to increase awareness toward the opportunities available to the ArcticNet PI's and their students, and the value of getting involved. The ASA is a way for students to collaborate with researchers both nationally and internationally, as well as a good opportunity to help organize Student Day during the ArcticNet annual conference. By joining the ASA executive committee or getting involved with the sub-committees, your students are exposed to volunteer opportunities and outreach programs to help spread Arctic research (e.g. "Schools on Board"), and various Arctic research programs.  The ArcticNet Training Fund is also available to help support the training of ArcticNet graduate students and northern students within national and international field schools, courses or institutes. All of these opportunities are further described on the ArcticNet website (http://www.arcticnet.ulaval.ca/students/opportunities.php).

The ASA also maintains a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ArcticNetSA/) to share resources, opportunities and updates, and to promote ongoing engagement within the ASA community. We encourage all ArcticNet Students to email or message the ASA with any questions on getting involved. The ASA Facebook page is also a great space for PI's to post upcoming research projects and programs, and if you are looking for students to supervise in Arctic research.

If you have any questions, please email us. We are happy answer any questions you may have.

Thank you,

ArcticNet Student Association

Special request from the ehPECS Board - last-minute volunteers!

Hi APECS Canada!

We are looking for a few volunteers to help moderate our Polar Week presentations this week for the following times (all in Eastern Standard Time zone):

Tuesday April 5th : 13h45-15h00 (FR) and 16h45-18h00 (EN)
Thursday April 7th: 10h15-11h30 (FR); 12h35-13h50 (EN)

You do not need to have any particular skills, just some time, an internet connection and some enthusiasm! Note that presentations with (FR) are in French (and will need moderating in French) and those with an (EN) are in English.

We will be doing a check-your-systems hour at 8:00pm EST/5:00pm PST TODAY, so please respond as soon as possible if you are available!

Thanks you so much for any help on this, I very much appreciate it!!!
