Dear APECS members,

Abstract submission for the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society's 50th Congress and joint annual Canadian Geophysical Union meeting is now open and we are pleased to announce the "General Cryosphere" session (40100).

This session welcomes presentations and posters relating to modelling, monitoring, and remote sensing of the cryosphere, including glaciers, ice shelves, sea ice, and permafrost, as well as local climate variability and trends.

Submission Deadline is Feb. 15, 2016

Note that bursaries from both CGU and CMOS are available to support student attendance.

The theme of this year's congress is "Monitoring of and Adapting to Extreme Events and Long-Term Variations," which should align well with recent changes we are observing in the Canadian North.

The joint-congress will be held from 29 May to 2 June, 2016 at the Fredericton Convention Centre, Fredericton, NB, Canada. The congress will bring together a wide range of scientists and other professionals from across Canada and other countries with a focus on topics in atmospheric, ocean and earth sciences.

Hope to see many of you in beautiful Fredericton!
