I'm pleased to hear that there will be a television program dedicated to sharing the lives of the hard-working people of the North with the world. However, I sincerely hope that the show will also recognize the many contributions made by WOMEN who work in the North [1]. If the producers need any help finding some of them, please contact the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists at http://apecs.is. The membership directory [2] contains hundreds of people, women and men, who would make excellent subjects for your show.

If you are smart, funny, energetic, love adventure, storytelling and at ease in front of a camera, this job may be for you. A leading film and television studio is casting for a host to head a documentary/reality series set in the Canadian Arctic.
The series explores the essential skills a man must have to work and survive in the harsh vastness of the Arctic - in such diverse jobs as Shrimp Fisherman, Arctic Diver, Arctic Bush Pilot and Game Warden among others.
Qualifications:
• A university degree.
• Arctic experience, while not necessary, would be an asset.
