Helping the CPC

Hi Everyone,

As  many of you know that since the IPY meeting in Montreal APECS Canada has gone from idea to action.  We have a website (http://apecs.is/get-involved/national-committees/apecs-canada), we have a leadership group (called the board at this point) that is leading a number of different projects, and we are working with several different partners, including the Canadian Polar Commission (CPC), who are very eager and excited about APECS Canada, and better connecting and serving the Canadian polar community.

Currently the CPC is re-doing their website, and with us and their other target users in mind, they are looking for some help, which is where you come in!

In order to help the CPC, APECS Canada is looking to form a small working group that can help the CPC as they build and develop their new website.  This would entail looking at the new CPC website every few weeks for the coming 6(ish) months, browsing around it, testing it out, and then submitting comments/feedback/suggestions on what you would like to see to the CPC website team. It does not require any website design or technical skills. So if you know how to click and point, and would like to help the CPC make their website easier to navigate, include the info that you are interesting  in accessing and all around put a better face forward to the polar community please contact me at jennifpro@gmail.com. This is a great opportunity to help shape the CPC, gain experience and contacts from working with the CPC staff, and contribute to polar science efforts in Canada without any huge commitments.

Hope to hear from many of you!

Thanks,

Jennifer Provencher
