Happy Polar Week APECS Canada!!
Starting today March 14th and going until March 18th, APECS Canada and APECS International is celebrating Polar Week during the spring equinox! There are many exciting activities planned (here's ideas and info from APECS: http://www.apecs.is/outreach/international-polar-week.html), and I'll kick it off with the an email to APECS Canada about #PolarWeek:
Step 1) on facebook or twitter, share anything related to the amazing polar work you do and pop the hashtag #PolarWeek on it - easy as that!
Step 2) if you are feeling particularly Canadian, toss on a #ehpecs as well and then we'll have a lovely record of your amazing social media sharing!
For examples, search #PolarWeek on twitter and see what other polar early career researchers from around the world are posting.
From our Education and Outreach Coordinator, contact Kristen Peck (kmpeck@ualberta.ca) if you are interested in presenting to school-groups in the coming weeks, or if you know a Grade 2-7 teacher interested in having a presentation! There will be fantastic webinars connecting scientists to classrooms in Canada from April 4-8th - after kids are back from Spring Break :)
For fans of amazing photography, check out the entries for the APECS International Polar Week Photo Competition:
Thanks for your participation and for sharing your passion about polar science! Keep an eye out for more info this Polar Week and see you on twitter!
Cheers,
Meagan
