Hello ArcticNet Student Researchers,
We are excited to see you all at the upcoming Arctic Change meeting in Quebec City next month! As a part of Student Day on Monday we will have youth from several local high schools joining us.
To take full advantage of this opportunity, we are looking for volunteer mentors to guide a small group of high school youth through the morning plenaries and talks. We are seeking both French and English speaking volunteers. We also encourage volunteers to share their own research with their group, as well as answer any questions the group may have.
In addition, if you are based in Quebec City we are looking for a few volunteers to visit the schools during the week before Student Day to help the participating high school students to prepare for Student Day. We know this will be a great opportunity to inspire future Arctic scientists!
If you are interested in mentoring a group, please email Kate (ASA Education and Outreach Coordinator) at macmillk@myumanitoba.
Please also indicate if you are available to visit one of the high schools during the week of Dec 4th.

Nous avons très hâte de vous voir à Québec le mois prochain pour la rencontre Arctic Change! Dans le cadre de la journée étudiante de lundi, des jeunes de plusieurs écoles secondaires des environs se joindront à nous.
Pour profiter pleinement de cette occasion, nous sommes à la recherche de mentors bénévoles pouvant accompagner des groupes de jeunes du secondaire pendant les plénières et présentations de l'avant-midi. Nous cherchons des bénévoles maîtrisant le français et/ou l'anglais. Nous encourageons également les bénévoles à partager leur recherche avec leur groupe et à répondre à leurs questions. De plus, nous espérons que des bénévoles basés à Québec puissent visiter les écoles secondaires la semaine précédant la conférence Arctic Change afin de préparer les participants pour la journée étudiante. Nous croyons qu'il s'agit d'une superbe occasion pour inspirer nos futurs chercheurs de l'Arctique!
